WTA Tour - Acura Classic — Jul - Aug 2009 (annual) La Costa Resort & Spa The Acura Classic, held each summer at the renowned La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, is one of the premier women's tennis events on the worldwide WTA Tour. Last year Russian, Maria Sharapova took the title as she defeated top-seeded Kim Clijsters in two sets in a nail-biting final.

Art in the Village — Aug 2009 (annual)

Two hundred arts and crafts vendors gather in the beautiful oceanside town of Carlsbad to display their creations during Art in the Village. Held two blocks from the beach, the event features live music, fine art, photography and much more.
